So who am I?
After 20 years in corporate America, I took advantage of a job elimination to try a different path with my life. I launched my own business - Zentripy Global Insurance - in July of 2014. Although I love working for myself, it has not always been easy paying my bills.
2015 was particularly challenging so I did not travel at all. This is a very big deal for me as being able to travel is one of the reasons I have chosen to work for myself. By the end of 2016, I was feeling more comfortable about how my business was progressing so I joined a volunteer project in Kandy, Sri Lanka. 2017 has continued on a positive path, so I felt confident taking this trip.
I have never really blogged. After previous volunteer trips, I have compiled my journal notes to put together a synopsis of my trips. These end up being 10 pages long and I am not really sure that anyone with whom I share them actually reads them.
So as I embark on this trip, I thought I would try to write a blog as I go. Considering I am writing my first entry a few mere hours before I leave, I am nervous about my commitment. But I will try...
I took this photo two days before I began this adventure. I don't like having my picture taken, but it seems like a necessity for blogs. Hopefully, when I return from this trip I will be able to look at this picture and not feel like I have aged too much.
